I'm Jo, the founder of The Burning Butterfly.  My journey began in 2025, with a simple belief: that the small things we bring into our homes should feel meaningful. 

I started by hand‑pouring eco‑friendly candles that are clean, gentle and inspired by the quiet beauty of British nature and the butterflies that depend on it. Every candle is created with intention, care, and a deep respect for the natural world.

As my home started to fill over the years with vintage pieces I loved, I realised something.  Sustainable living isn’t just about what we make. It’s also about what already exists.

That’s why The Burning Butterfly is growing into a space where candles and vintage treasures sit side by side. I hand source every vintage piece myself, choosing items that deserve a second life: objects with history, character, and quiet beauty.   Pieces that have been overlooked, forgotten, or discarded but still have so much to offer.

Bringing vintage into the heart of my brand allows me to honour what I care about most:

• Reusing - giving new purpose to items that would otherwise be lost
• Sustainable living - choosing what already exists over what must be newly made
• Breathing life back into unwanted objects - celebrating the imperfect, the storied and the handmade
