Victorian Plate Warmer

A lovely example of a Victorian pewter mounted plate warmer made by James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield.  

These plates were used in the 19th Century to keep dinner plates warm at the dining table by filling them with hot water through the side plug.

Diameter - 26.5cm
